Even with a
bag full of the best camera equipment in the world you still need
something to photograph. While your cat may make an excellent subject,
it could be considered a waste buying a 70-200L 2.8 IS just to snap
a picture of fluffy taking a nap.
To solve this
problem of "I have nothing to photograph!" I've recently
started looking for opportunities to take photos around my home
town of Austin, Texas. At first this can seem like a really boring
place with miles of typical suburban sprawl, but if you start to
look around you'll notice all sorts of opportunities: street fairs,
outdoor concerts, state parks, State Capitol, Hill Country, old
forts, University of Texas, area lakes, and caverns.
This page will
track my exploration and hopefully you will find this information
useful. Please feel free to contact
me with comments and/or suggestions of other places to visit!
